CALDWELL COUNTY, Mo. — The remains of the two missing Wisconsin brothers are found, according to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.

A press release states the remains of the two brothers were found in different locations — on a Missouri farm — and in Nebraska. An examination of dental records confirmed the identification of Nicholas Diemel on a farm in Caldwell County and Justin Diemel in a livestock trailer in Lincoln, Nebraska.

A rancher first reported the remains in the trailer last week after he purchased it from Missouri. Officials didn’t state what type of remains were found, but confirmed they were that of the two brothers.

Garland “Joey” Nelson is in custody at the Caldwell County Detention Center in Kingston, Missouri. He is formally charged with two counts each of murder, abandonment of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and armed criminal action. He also faces charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The investigation is ongoing.
