usaSPRINGFIELD, Mo – A man from Republic pleaded guilty to a charge of producing child pornography from January 21 to 25, 2015.

A news release submitted by the Western Missouri District of the U.S. Justice Department states Benjamin Michael Hopper, 23, pleaded guilty to the charge, admitting that he used a minor he met in an online chat room for child pornography production.

According to court documentation, the minor covertly left her house to live with Hopper for several days to engage in various sexual acts which he recorded on a personal iPad.

Hopper will face a sentence of up to 30 years in federal prison without parole and a fine of up to $250,000.
