On the heals of the news of Osama bin Laden’s death, several county officials, veterans and residents took part in a parade Tuesday morning in Marshall. Charlie Guthrie, of Slater, said the impromptu event was designed to give residents a chance to show their appreciation for the troops. “I’m proud of the response we received today. They stand up for our troops. Their not afraid to show their faith in God and their true allegiance to the great nation we have,” said Guthrie. More than two dozen residents gathered at the square in Marshall Tuesday, including WWII Veteran Harold Arnsmeyer.
