The Pettis County Commission and the XI Beta Upsilon, Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi have announced the winners of their first privately funded County wide outdoor residential Christmas Lighting Contest.  This was an expansion on the idea of the City of Sedalia Lighting Contest.

Judging took place on December 12th and was based on lighting, theme, eye appeal, originality and overall appeal.

The winners were:

1st place ($100) – Tammy and Dennis Walker at 29693 Rattle Snake Road, just south of Smithton. If you are looking to view this beautiful display they are located on the west side of Smithton. Drive south on the blacktop until it turn into gravel, follow the gravel and take a right, you cannot miss it.

2nd place ($50) – Mr. & Mrs. David Wolfe at 1920 Ashwood Circle in Hunters Ridge, Mo.

3rd place ($25) – Doug & Tammy Ketty at 4235 Green Circle just outside of Sedalia in Country Club Addition.

Honorable Mention – Cindy & Scotty Birdwell at 25857 Thomas Road, just south of  La Monte, Mo.

This was a privately funded event and all winnings have been donated on behalf of the winners to a charity of their choice. The three charities’ that will receive donations are the First Baptist Church, the Division Church and the Sedalia Animal Shelter.

These displays will remain in place through the Christmas holiday.
