Press Release from MoDOT

MoDOT representatives and Saline County Commissioners are attending three ribbon-cutting ceremonies for bridges in Saline County on Thursday, August 18. The ceremonies highlight bridges that were repaired or rebuilt as part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

The first ribbon cutting will be 10 a.m. on Route VV at the Brushy Creek Bridge. The bridge is located one mile north of I-70.

The second ribbon cutting will immediately follow on Route D at the Fish Creek Bridge. The bridge is located three miles south of MO 240.

The third ceremony will be held on Route M at the Buck Creek Bridge. The bridge is located five miles north of Gilliam, near the junction of Route F.

These bridges are among more than 800 statewide that are being repaired, redecked or replaced through MoDOT’s Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.  Most of Missouri’s worst bridges will be fixed through this accelerated program, including more than 145 in the nine-county Kansas City District. This year alone, MoDOT will fix more than 70 bridges and complete all scheduled Safe & Sound bridges by the end of 2012.
