A decision on the Richmond High School Schedule was made at Thursday night’s Board of Education meeting. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Superintendent Dr. Damon Kizzire:
The Board voted to change the high school to a seven period day with six members voting yes, two voting no, and one abstaining. Superintendent Doctor Damon Kizzire says part of the reason for the division, both among the board and in the community’s response, might be because change is always difficult. There was not much opposition vocalized at the meeting, and most was about the decreased number of credits students can now earn. The new schedule will take effect in the upcoming school year.
