“There’s criteria of leadership, specific contribution of outstanding achievement or accomplishment, longevity, and example,”said Swafford,”To be eligible, you have to be a graduate of R-XVI high school or, if you’re not a graduate, you could simply be a volunteer whose given your time or resources for unselfish betterment of the school district.”

Past recipients of the honor include Puff Adams, Tom Adams, Janice Driver, Dan Menke, Virginia Bryan, Gary Converse, Bill George, and Charlie Hamann.  Anyone wishing to make a nomination for this year, must do so by August 1st and those selected will be notified by August 15th.  An application form, as well as criteria for nominees, can be found at
