RAY COUNTY, Mo—A Ray County man faces multiple charges following a fatal accident.
According to a highway patrol report, 35-year-old Richmond resident, Christopher M. Brooks was arrested Saturday after a woman was run over by a car he was driving. Brooks faces potential charges of involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended, and failure to wear a seat-belt. Brooks was put on a 24-hour-hold at Ray County Jail.
Brooks’s arrest follows 38-year-old Lawson resident Misty Newell’s tragic death. On Friday, Sept. 27 Brooks was driving with Newell as his passenger. Newell fell out of the passenger window and was run over by the vehicle. Newell died at the scene.
