Two re-enactments of a bank robbery will be held this weekend as part of Richmond Outlaw Days. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Co-chair Nathan Preston:
Preston said the heist they will portray is unusual because it took place during the day and the townspeople fought back. During that robbery in 1867, three citizens died, including the mayor. The reenactments will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Other events of the day include a chilli cook-off starting at 6:00 a.m., a 5k and 10k, with registration for those starting at 7:00 a.m., and a kiddie parade at 9:00 a.m. Later in the day, Kansas City Bluegrass band The Hootin Annies will play at 4:30 p.m. Blues artist Samantha Fish will play at 7:00 p.m. with opener The Justin Andrew Murray Band. A beer and wine garden will be available.
