Richmond’s base rate for waste water is increasing by an additional five dollars. Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade speak with City Administrator Ron Brohammer:
The City enacted a series of hikes to help cover the costs of a $10 million expansion project.
“We’ve had two five-dollar rate increases, one last year, and then this one this year, taking us to $15.09. The base rate prior to the beginning of all of this was $5.09, plus the usage fees,” said Brohammer, “So the usage fee has not changed, not increased. That stays the same. The final fee we anticipate will be just about a year from now, and that will take, eventually, the base fee up to $20.09.”
The most recent increase will take effect on the August 15th billing cycle.
