RANDOLPH COUNTY, Mo. — A crash on Route 63 in Randolph County sent two people to an area hospital, one in a critical condition, Thursday morning.

State troopers responded to U.S. Route 63 southbound, two miles south of Moberly, at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, to reports of an accident involving two vehicles.

A crash report indicates that a pick-up truck operated by Mark A. Churchill, 48, of Moberly, pulled into the path of a second vehicle, driven by Crista Barton, 45, of Brookfield.

Barton then struck Churchill’s truck in its rear, sending it overturning off the side of the roadway, coming to rest on its top.

Barton sustained moderate injuries in the crash, however Churchill, who the report alleges was not wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries in the rollover accident.

Both were taken to University Hospital in Columbia to receive care.
