Ruth Lorene Almond, 94 of Brookfield passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in Macon, MO.
Ruth Lorene daughter of Isaac Estil Gupton and Lora Alice Gardner Gupton was born on April 26, 1927 in the rural Bucklin area. On February 16, 1946 Ruth married Harold Woodrow Almond in Kansas City, MO; Harold preceded her in death on August 2, 2007. Ruth was a charter member of the Grace Baptist Church in Brookfield, member of the Red Hat society, and a member of the Laclede American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed quilting by hand and making her homemade noodles, Ruth was well known for her homemade noodles. She never knew a stranger. She loved to laugh and have fun but, most of all she loved her family and even more she loved her Lord.
Ruth is survived by her three children, Donald Almond and Karen of Columbia, MO; Julia Jackson and Dan Brady of Bucklin, MO; and Sandra Roberts and Donald Morgan of Merriam Woods, MO; fifteen grandchildren, forty one great grandchildren, seventeen great great grandchildren, and several other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, two brothers, and two sons-in-law.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 with the family receiving friends at that time at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO; Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am. Wednesday, July 28th at the Grace Baptist Church, Brookfield, MO; with Pastor Kelly Bodwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, MO; Services are under the direction of the Rhodes Funeral Home.
