Some elected officials in Chillicothe were granted a pay raise at Monday night’s meeting.  The rate of pay for elected officials can not be changed while they are in office, so it had to be decided before the December 11th filing date.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Ike Holland:

The Mayor, City Clerk, and City Auditory received a rate increase of four percent.  They Clerk and Auditor will also now be paid $75 per meeting outside of their normal pay times.

Council also accepted a health insurance bid.  The new rates will increase by about 15 percent.  Holland said it is low compared to some of their peers.  Council passed an ordinance adopting the 2011 National Electric Code.  According to Holland, those affected have known the changes were coming for about a year.
