CHILLICOTHE, MO – City officials in Chillicothe approved salary increases for elected officials for the 2019-2021 term.
Cost of living increases, estimated at two percent, caused commensurate increases in salaries for the offices of Chillicothe Clerk, and Auditor. The Mayor also would receive the same salary increase, as well as matching the pay for meetings that council members receive. The current Mayor, Reed Dupy, briefly objected to the pay raise for Mayor last night, citing efforts to keep budget items static. Councilman Ed Douglas voiced the opinion of councilmembers, who all voted in favor of the increases, saying those who serve in the Mayoral office deserve the pay. The increase matches a similar margin that regular employees received in 2017-18.
