The Salisbury R-4 School Board will consider a final design for a construction project next week.  Officials say the area will provide space for several different purposes including a tornado safe room.  Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to Superintendent Todd Wilhite:

“Right now, we are taking down the old high school building and auditorium to make room for this,”said Wilhite,” So, this summer has been busy with demolition.  This is scheduled to be finished this week.  The facility we’re going to put back is going to be a gym with a multipurpose area between it that attaches the current high school to the safe room.”

The new facility, that is expected to seat 1,200 people, should be complete in time for the 2013-2014 school year.
