MARSHALL, Mo. — Santa Fe Agri-Leaders will be hosting a golf classic at Indian Foothills golf course on July 20. SFAL President Jeff Bergman explained that all proceeds will benefit the organization’s mission of moving agriculture forward.

Since 1999, Santa Fe Agri-Leaders has supported FFA, provided scholarships to students and offered an educational platform where agriculturalists can continue learning about the industry.

“We’re a young farmer group based out of Santa Fe High School, but we serve more than Santa Fe High School,” Bergman explained. “We serve several counties. We do educational events throughout the year. January and February we have weekly meetings. We bring in speakers to educate you on what’s new in agriculture, what’s coming up and what can affect you on the farm.”

The cost is $275 per team. Lunch and a rib eye sandwich will be provided during and after the tournament to all participants. Additionally, there will be silent auction items that individuals can bid on throughout the day.

Participants can expect a three-man scramble with a shotgun start beginning at 9:00 a.m. Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. Bergman said individuals can register ahead of time by going to or by calling 660-674-2220.

“We would like to know ahead of time so we can make plans, food plans especially, but if you wake up that morning and want to play, we’d sure like to have you,” Bergman added.
