Missouri State opened its fall baseball campaign with a 10-3 victory over the Ontario Blue Jays Tuesday afternoon at Hammons Field. The Bears scored eight times over the first five innings and banged out 12 hits in all, while seven MSU pitchers combined to strike-out 17 batters and hold the visitors to six hits.
A heartbreaking three-set loss for the Knob Noster Volleyball team last night in Richmond. The Lady Panthers fell 18, 25 and 28. Knob Noster Head Coach Jennifer Goodrich feels that her team has made great strides over the course of the season. The Lady Panthers return home for a match against Holden tomorrow night.

University of Missouri curators have voted to consider leaving the Big 12 for another conference. Board members unanimously agreed on the decision yesterday after a four-hour closed meeting. Speculation has centered on Mizzou possibly moving to the Southeastern Conference.
Missouri forward Laurence Bowers is out of the season with a torn ACL in one of his knees. Basketball coach Frank Haith says Bowers was injured on Monday. The forward averaged nearly 12 points per game last season as a junior.
The NBA has canceled the remainder of the preseason and will wipe out the first two weeks of the regular season if there is no labor agreement by Monday. The move came after four hours of fruitless negotiations yesterday and no further talks are scheduled.
