Volunteers will be participating in cleaning up Sedalia Saturday. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Housing Specialist for the city of Sedalia, Jamie Bethel.
Bethel said last month’s project saw an overwhelming response. “It was very successful, we had 60 volunteers show up. We were able to take out an enormous amount of brush, trash, and debris and get those items out of the neighborhood.” The volunteers will meet at City Hall at 200 S Osage at 8:00 a.m. and divide into teams before beginning work.
She says several areas will be involved in the program. “We’re going to get into the neighborhoods and help people get their unwanted items form their yard to the curb. We’re going to get the alleys and clean those out and pick up trash and debris.”
Volunteers are still wanted for the project for more information or to get involved contact Jamie Bethel at 660-827-3000 ext. 139.
