The Sedalia City Council will consider the purchase of a Sewer Vacuum Truck at Monday night’s meeting. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Gary Edwards:
The new equipment will help in the ongoing effort to maintain wastewater lines and facilities. “It’s an item that is budgeted. In fact, this particular item comes in under budget. And asking the Council to actually approve it, even though it’s in the budget, asking Council to approve the final purchase of this sewer vacuum truck. Which will continue to help our efforts to maintain the City’s wastewater lines and facilities,” said Edwards.
Council will also revisit the Stormwater Master Plan. This plan includes a list of prioritized items and areas in need of improvements. “It allows us to approach, systematically, the needed inmprovements for the City’s stormwater challenges and stormwater issues, as the budget will allow,” said Edwards.
The pre-council meeting begins at 6:00. Regular session is scheduled for 7:00. At that time, a public hearing on the tax rate will be held. It is scheduled to increase a very small amount.
