A Sedalia man has been taken into custody for a murder that occurred in the state of California in 2010.
Gambino Becerra, 20, was arrested at his home in early September for the murder of Edgar Chavez, 19. New details surfaced in the case Wednesday.
Authorities believe Becerra shot and killed Chavez at a large party, which took place in a rural vineyard near Parlier, California. Reports indicate Becerra also critically wounded another victim. The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Homicide unit says the party drew more than 200 people, after word spread through social networking.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control, Becerra had been living in Sedalia after he obtained a Missouri Identification Card under an alias name.
