PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Sedalia resident received injuries after crashing into a tree in a one-vehicle accident last night in Pettis County, according to Missouri Highway Patrol.

26-year-old Samuel Bishop was traveling northbound on 65 Highway, north of Route HH, at 8 p.m. when, due to a brake defect, he was unable to slow down, causing him to swerve off the right side of the roadway to avoid hitting another vehicle. In doing so, Bishop struck a tree.

Bishop, who was wearing his seatbelt, received minor injuries. which he was treated for at Bothwell Regional Hospital.
