After many weeks of preparation, the Clean Up Sedalia Committee will make their initial recommendations to the city council Monday evening during a work session.  Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott talk to committee chairperson Mary Merritt:

“We will recommend that the city council change the height requirements for grass and weeds, change the definition of rubbish, change the city ordinance to allow building materials to be picked up and develop a neighborhood clean-up plan,” said Merritt, “We would also like to  eliminate vehicles parked in violation of city code, implement a pick-up on demand with the neighborhood program, add code enforcement personnel, and consider contracting for the use of prisoners in the clean up program.”

The work session is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the Mayor’s conference room.
