UPDATE:  6:30 p.m. – According to Missouri Highway Patrol, the truck, driven by 29 year old Casey McCurdy of JeffersonCity, landed in a creek east of Salisbury off Highway 24 moving westbound after hitting a guardrail.  That is in contradiction to other reports that claimed it went into the Chariton River, east of Keytesville.  The crash was reported early Wednesday afternoon, September 7.   

McCurdy received minor injuries.  He was taken to Moberly Regional Medical Center.

CHARITON COUNTY, Mo – Crews are still working at the scene of a vehicle crash off 24 Highway east of Keytesville.  It was reported before the 2-o-clock hour today.  According to witnesses and Highway Patrol, a semi-tractor-trailer went into the Chariton River from the roadway.  Missouri Highway Patrol is currently working the scene, and say there is currently nothing blocking the roadway, but motorists should use caution in the area.
