With crude oil prices dropping nearly $11 in the past two days of trading, the expectation is that pump prices will follow suit in the near future. Senator Claire McCaskill says that the government has been working to increase the supply of oil, especially from domestic wells.
McCaskill says there are limits on what the government can do, short of setting price controls.
Currently, the latest Triple-A survey of gas prices nationwide has the average at $3.98 per gallon. In Missouri, the average price is $3.85.
