Update:(7/29/15)- Jorge Torres, Jr. was sentenced to 7 years in federal prison without parole for his role in the conspiracy that distributed “thousands of pounds of marijuana in southwest Missouri. Torres admitted to distributing around 120 pounds of marijuana which he obtained from Bond to Jordan Hitchcock, age 22, of Springfield. Torres made approximately $50 per pound sold.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Republic has been sentenced for his role in a drug distribution conspiracy.
Sean Bond, 39, pleaded guilty Oct. 16, 2014 to participating in a conspiracy to distribute marijuana around the Springfield area. Three co-defendants, Brian d. Hanson, 30, Brenda Swearingin, 57, of Springfield, and Jorge Torres, Jr., 31, of Battlefield were also convicted.
Together, they distributed several thousand pounds of marijuana which they collected from places as far as Texas, for dispersion around Greene County. Bond has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison without parole.
