Attorneys will be in an Independence courtroom Thursday afternoon for a pre-trial setting in the case against William Christman, 65, of Independence.

Christman is accused of allegedly sexually abusing his granddaughter and is facing charges including statutory rape, sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, and allegations of child pornography. It is suspected the abuse lasted for more than a year.

Christman has been jailed on a $300,000 bond since his arrest on May 31. The court is refusing him contact with any person under the age of 17, including his granddaughter.

The pre-trial conference will get started at 1:15 p.m.
