CARROLL COUNTY, MO – After the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to conduct a well-being check on an individual, several animals were taken into custody.
According to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, deputies discovered evidence of animal neglect, cruelty, and abuse which was allegedly perpetrated on ten dogs that were eventually removed from the property. They were taken into the care of deputies, and the Humane Society.
The location of the property and identity of the owner were not provided.
The post indicates there are two types of animal abuse: passive and active. This takes the form of neglect, and intentional harm. The Carroll County Sheriff urges concerned citizens to report any instances of abuse without hesitation.
