COLUMBIA, Mo. – An arrest has been made in relation to a shots fired investigation by Columbia, Mo. Police dating back to Wednesday morning, August 23, 2017.
According to a release, police were called to the 1200 block of Grand Avenue just after 11 Wednesday morning and discovered several shell casings in the area. They were recovered and booked as evidence.
According to eyewitnesses a male suspect was walking along Grand Avenue when he allegedly opened fire on a vehicle that had just begun to move. Reportedly an occupant of that vehicle returned fire.
Both the suspect vehicle and suspect fled the area. No reports of injuries or property damage were made.
Following an investigation officers reported arresting 19-year-old Da’jon Jermaine Gully of Columbia Monday afternoon in the 600 block of East Broadway. Gully has been identified as a convicted felon and is now charged with Felony Armed Criminal Action, Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felony Unlawful for Certain Persons to Possess Concealable Firearm with bonds to be set by the court. Court dates are pending.
Police are still working to identify the occupants of the vehicle.
