COLUMBIA, Mo.- According to an official release from the Columbia Police Department, a shots fired investigation that occurred this morning is currently on-going.

Columbia Police officers responded to the 2900 block of Northland Drive at 12:20 a.m., in reference to shots fired. Boone County Joint Communications received several calls regarding gunfire.

Multiple shell casings in the roadway were seized as officers arrived on scene. There were no reported injuries or property damage. The rounds may have been fired from a vehicle that was traveling in the area.

Multiple witnesses reported seeing a blue Toyota and a red sedan at the time of the incident.
