The Concordia Lions Club and the City of Concordia rededicate the Sister of Lady Liberty Statue on Saturday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with City Administrator Dale Klussman:
The replica of the New York Harbor original has been relocated and renovated. She was relocated from the southwest corner of Central Park to the northeast corner, which is more open.
“So it’s a lot more visible from Main Street. And part of that is, a new sidewalk has been poured completely around it,” said Klussman, “As well as work being done on the statue itself, on the base, and on the 11-point star planter.”
The ceremony will be held at 1:30 at the statue’s new location. Benches will be provided, but lawn chair are encouraged. Light refreshments will follow.
