Mayor Stephen Allegri spoke to KMZU’s Sandi Wilson about the council meeting taking place this evening.
The two main topics up for discussion are the agreement with Century Link stemming from a class action suit against the phone company for back taxes. Mayor Allegri says, “The century link agreement is actually a refund agreement that has been made during a class action suit against the phone company for back taxes. And they came upon an agreement and we have to just accept that agreement. It’s not a lot of money. And that also we can collect taxes in the future on the cell phones.”
The other item up for elaboration is the presentation of two bids regarding demolition of some houses. “The demo hearing, I’ll be giving the council the 2 bids that we’ve got for demolition of the houses; we always do so many a year. We’ve got 4 houses that we’ve accepted bids on and we’ll be presenting those bids to the council.” Mayor Allegri will also talk about the Fall Festival which will be happening this coming weekend.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00 in Council Chambers at City Hall.
