Slater city council accepted a bid for improvements to their industrial park this week. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross speak with Assistant City Administrator Russell Griffith:
The approximately $199,000 low bid came from Earthworks Excavation in Higginsville. The work that will be done includes a ten-inch water line from the industrial park water tower to the northwest part of the park, two new highway entrances, and a closed septic system. Council also discussed the rate increase that will come with the renewal of their Kansas City Power and Light contract. Under the proposed contract, rates will gradually increase over a four-year period.
