The Slater City Council discussed a proposed animal control ordinance at their regular meeting Tuesday night.

Allegri says, “There will be a public meeting to be held on Monday at seven p.m. to get the public’s input on the issue.”

The city was also presented with an award of about $800 from MIRMA  to purchase safety cabinets for hazardous materials.

The council approved a purchase of supplies including new computers, a new server and a police vehicle.

The council also listened to updates on Christmas lighting, the Santa train and tree trimming.
