The heavy rain across the region Monday could change to snow by Tuesday evening in some portions of the KMZU listening area.  Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with National Weather Service Meterologist Mike July:

Mike July

“The cold rain will continue through Monday evening,” July said.  “If you’re traveling up near the Missouri-Iowa border, certainly when you get up into the northwest part of Missouri, you’re going to be running into a mix of sleet and rain and a little bit of snow late Tuesday.  We are expecting to see some snow accumulations in the northwest quarter of the state.”

According to July, the forecast is calling for another dose of winter weather by the end of the week.  “With temperatures below freezing, it looks like we maybe trending in that direction and we could see some accumulating snow as we get into Friday.  But, we continue to watch this system as it tries to organize.”
