MARSHALL, Mo — An author who has penned multiple books on solar eclipses will be in Marshall this week.

Star-gazers and celestial connoisseurs will have the opportunity to hear Fred Espenak speak at the Marshall Public Library on Wednesday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m., during an informal discussion regarding eclipses, and more specifically, the upcoming total solar eclipse which will pass over the KMZU listening area in the early afternoon on Monday, August 21.

Espenak, who is considered a leading scholar on the rare celestial events, will be available after his informal talk to sign copies of his books, which will be available for sale at the library.

Espenak will then appear on the campus of Missouri Valley College in Marshall at 7:00 p.m. in the Charles L. Bacon Conference Center, which is inside of the new student life center at the College.
