Officials in both Linn and Caldwell counties have lifted their burn bans.  The restrictions were put in place prior to the July 4th holiday.  Authorities still encourage residents to exercise caution when burning outside.

The Saline County Commission has extended their ban until at least Sept. 15.

Livingston County removed their burn ban on Saturday.  The City of Macon and Warrensburg announced Tuesday morning that they too would be lifting their bans.

Additional counties could allow outside burning as the forecast continues to call for rain.  Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Thursday evening, with lows in the lower 60s.  There is a 60 percent chance of rain on Friday.  Highs are going to be in the mid to upper 70s.
