Southbound 65 Highway near Waverly open, however MoDOT plans to close roadway again
The Missouri Department of Transportation have said water had receded at Highway 65 near Waverly and is open at the moment. Vehicles are passing through, but a spokesperson said they would close it in the event of rising water levels, if future rainfall amounts warrant.
Multiple flaggers are moving vehicles through one lane of traffic. Fast moving water has been reported in the area. Drivers should exercise caution while driving through the area. The water covering the roadway is reported to be at least 1-2 inches. Traffic is moving slowly through the affected areas.
KMZU’s Brian Lock was at the scene earlier this morning and reported the southbound lane of the highway was closed due to flooding across the area.
MoDOT did not give a timetable on when the highway would close again.
