A recount of the April 2nd election results came out as a 55-55 tie between Diana Rickey and Shawn Fox.

This is not the first time Niendick has been required to hold a special election.  “It’s not unusual.  We did one, in fact, after the School Board in Oak Grove.  I think it was just last year.  And that was a tie,” said Niendick, “And I think, you know, the thing that people need to be aware of is the old cliche that one vote can make a difference.”

The date of the special election was originally reported to be scheduled for June.  According to new information, it will be held May 14th.  Polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.
