A public hearing regarding the old hospital property in Marshall is slated for Tuesday evening. Click to hear KMZU’s Kristie Cross talk to City Administrator Connie Latimer:
“The building is vacant and that’s bad for the neighborhood,”said Latimer,”This would be a nice change for them and it would put some new life back into that area just simply because the longer buildings sit empty, the worse they continue to look.”
Officials plan to revamp the structure into a housing facility for qualified residents ages 55 and older. Co-developers Pioneer Group of Topeka, Kansas and Sunflower Development Group of Kansas City will have representatives on hand to answer questions during the session. The meeting will begin at 5:15 p.m. in council chambers.
