(Kansas City, MO) — The Royals suffered a 4-3 loss to the White Sox in 12 innings last night. It was Chicago’s first three-game sweep in Kansas City since 2009. The Royals have lost five straight and eight of their last 10. (St. Louis, MO) — David Freese knocked in two runs to help the Cardinals top the Braves 6-2 in the first of four from St. Louis. Matt Holliday finished 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for the Cards, who have won five-of-six. Matt Carpenter went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and an RBI in the win. Joe Kelly allowed two runs in six innings for the win. The Cards and Braves continue the set tonight.
The Reds beat the Diamondbacks 2-1.
The Dodgers shut out the Marlins 6-0 in Miami.
Chad Tracy plated the go-ahead run in the top of the 13th inning as the Nationals nipped the Cubs 5-4.
The winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Phillies to a 5-4 walk-off win over the Rockies for the second straight night.
A seven-run fifth inning helped clinch a Pirates 10-5 win over the Giants as they took the first of four games.
Curtis Granderson homered to back six solid innings from Andy Pettitte, as the Yankees completed a four-game sweep of the Blue Jays with a 5-3 win.
Chris Herrmann went 3-for-5 with two RBI, including the go-ahead double in the eighth, as the Twins topped the Tigers 7-6.

(Denver, CO) — The St. Louis Rams are on the road for the final time this preseason tomorrow against the Denver Broncos. The Rams are 0-and-2 with losses to Cleveland and Green Bay. The exhibition slate ends next Thursday at home against the Ravens. The regular season begins September 8th against the Cardinals.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Chiefs are on the road tomorrow night against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. It’s the third game of the preseason, with the starters expected to get their most playing time yet. The Chiefs lost their first two exhibitions to the Saints and 49ers by a combined six points. KC closes out the preseason next Thursday hosting Green Bay.

(Manhattan, KS) — Construction crews finish a 75-million-dollar renovation to Kansas State’s Bill Snyder Family Stadium with one week to spare. Renovations to the west side of the 45-year-old stadium were squeezed into eight months to be ready for the Wildcats’ season opener against North Dakota State August 30th. The stadium sports a new limestone exterior, better lighting, and improved broadcast facilities.
