We’re celebrating our 2012 KMZU Basketball Dream Team by holding a broadcast to honor all the student athletes. We’ll be airing interviews with coaches talking about all the accomplishments of their Dream Team players throughout the season. Our KMZU Dream Team broadcast is coming up Friday March 30th starting at 7 p.m. Phone calls are already rolling in and here are the Dream Team players that have been announced so far:
Marceline Tigers and Coach Kent O’Laughlin – juniors Brett McGlothlin and Brennan Floray
Kearney Lady Bulldogs and Coach Herb Webster – freshman Taylor Doan, sophomore Meagan Paul and junior Mackenzie Cook

The Lafayette County C-1 Huskers have advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Class 3 boys basketball playoffs. They got a win over Cameron Wednesday night, and now the Huskers are preparing to take on Hogan Prep who beat Lamar 77-47 Wednesday night. That game will be at the Independence Events Center Saturday afternoon, with a 2:45 tip-off.
In the Class 3 girls sectional Lawson beat Cameron 45 – 40. Lawson is now 25 – 4 on the year. The Lady Cardinals will face Stockton Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Independence Events Center.
The Wellington-Napoleon girls got past Archie 53 – 44. Wellington-Napoleon is now 24 – 5. They will take on North Platte Saturday night at 6 at the Independence Events Center.
The Salisbury boys continue to dominate. They got a big win over Tipton Wednesday night. Salisbury is now 28 – 1 this season. They take on Northeast (Cairo) Saturday at 2:45 at Moberly Area Community College.
The Glasgow boys beat St. Elizabeth last night at Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia on Tuesday night. The Glasgow boys will now face Marion County Saturday night at 7:45 at Moberly Area Community College. Glasgow is 24 – 5 on the year. Marion County is 27 – 1.
