ST. LOUIS (AP) — Second-ranked Wichita State continued its perfect season by reaching the Missouri Valley Conference final with a 67-42 silencing of Missouri State. Cleanthony Early knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 20 points as the Shockers improved to 33-0, the best start by a Missouri Valley team since Larry Bird and Indiana State in 1979. Should the Shockers win the conference title game on Sunday, they would match the NCAA-record start by UNLV in 1990-91.

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kenny Chery had 10 of Baylor’s 17 consecutive made free throws down the stretch, leading the Bears to a 76-74 victory over Kansas State yesterday. Kansas State had the ball with three-tenths of a second left, but Will Spradling’s full-court inbound pass was picked off, allowing time to run out in Manhattan.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — Eron Harris scored 28 points, Juwan Staten added 24 and West Virginia withstood 41 points by freshman Andrew Wiggins and a furious comeback by 8th ranked Kansas to upset the Jayhawks 92-86 in their Big 12 regular-season finale. Perry Ellis added 14 points for Kansas, which clinched its 10th straight regular-season title a week ago and had little riding on this game in Morgantown.

DENVER (AP) — Ryan Miller stopped 26 shots, and David Backes broke up a scoreless game in the second period, helping the St. Louis Blues win at the surging Colorado Avalanche 2-1 yesterday. Patrik Berglund added a pivotal insurance goal early in the third period as the Blues won their fourth straight.
