Ray-Pec advanced their record to 6 – 6 on the year with a 59 – 23 win over Excelsior Springs. Chillicothe beat Liberty North 47 – 42. The Hornets are now 8 – 6 overall. The host team Kearney continues their strong season with a 51 – 29 victory against Lafayette. The Lady Bulldogs are now 11 – 2. North Kansas City now has the same 11 – 2 record following their 38 – 26 win over St. Joe Benton.

The Lincoln Jr. High Girl’s Basketball team raised thier record to 3-0 with a come from behind victory over the Sedalia Middle School on Wednesday, January 11. The home team Cardinals fell behind at the end of the first quarter by a 6-12 margit before tying the score at 18-18 at the end of the first half. At the end of the third quarter the visiting Sedalia Tigers held a 33-29 lead. During the fourth quarter, the Lincoln team outscored their opponents 17-11 to end the game with a hard-fought 46-44 victory.
Lincoln was led in scoring by Sloan Swearngin with 15 points. Seana Hansen and Paige Bybee were also in double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively. Shelbey Vandaveer contributed 6 and Justine Ransdell had 2. Lexi Beaman and Macie Yearout each had 1 point to complete the scoring for the Lincoln Lady Cardinals. Sedalia was paced by Jessica Coble with 25 points, with Brianna Pollitt adding 12 points. This report was filed by Marlin Hammond, Coach.

The Central Missouri Mules built a big first half lead then withstood a late Northwest Missouri rally to down the 24th-ranked Bearcats 63-60 on Wednesday night at the UCM Multipurpose Building. The win was UCM’s sixth straight against the Bearcats and the second consecutive win over a ranked opponent. Central Missouri is now 9-4 overall and 5-3 in the MIAA. The Bearcats record drops to 12-2 and 6-2 in MIAA play. Central Missouri is back in action Saturday as Missouri Western comes to town for an MIAA game. The tipoff is scheduled for a 3 p.m. at the Multi on the UCM campus.
Coming up in high school basketball tonight the tournaments continue in Lawson, Lathrop and Kearney. Higginsville travels to St. Paul’s for both a girls and a boys game. Marshall is on the road to Oak Grove.
