>>Chiefs Focus On Pass Attack Again

(St. Joseph, MO)  —  The Chiefs continue to focus on the passing attack thus far in training camp.  For the second straight day, the Chiefs did not attempt to execute a running play.  Rookies, QB’s and select veterans are working out ahead of the full squad, which is due to report today.

(Kansas City, MO)  —  Alcides Escobar delivered the game-winning double high off the wall in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Royals a 4-3 comeback win over the Orioles.  Eric Hosmer homered twice, including a game-tying two-run shot in the eighth.  Luke Hochevar got the win.  The Royals and Orioles wrap up their four-game series tonight at Kauffman Stadium.  Jeremy Guthrie starts for KC against his former club.  He’s 9-and-7 with a 4.41 ERA.  Guthrie beat the Birds 6-2 in Baltimore back in May.  Miguel Gonzalez starts for Baltimore.

(St. Louis, MO)  —  Shane Robinson hit a three-run triple and Matt Adams also plated three runs as the Cardinals crushed the Phillies 11-3 in the middle of a three-game series at Busch Stadium.  Yadier Molina went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Redbirds, who have won three in-a-row.  Jake Westbrook allowed three runs in seven frames as he improved to 7-and-4 with the victory.  The Cards and Phils end the series tonight.

(Lawrence, KS)  —  Kansas freshman guard Brannen Greene is facing an August 7th court date for a car accident this month.  The “Star” cites a police report as saying Greene hit a parked car in a driveway at 3:15 a.m on July 13th.  He admitted to driving and having one drink four days later.
