Adam Wainwright took his second loss of the series despite striking out 10 and allowing three runs in seven innings. Matt Holliday’s home run in the fourth was the only run St. Louis would score. The World Series now shifts back to Boston. Today is a travel day for the Cardinals and Red Sox, who will play Game Six of the best-of-seven series tomorrow night at Fenway Park. It’s a rematch of Game Two, with Michael Wacha opposing John Lackey. If needed, Game Seven is Thursday.

(New York, NY) — Five Royals could receive defensive honors tonight. Catcher Salvador Perez, first baseman Eric Hosmer, shortstop Alcides Escobar, left fielder Alex Gordon and center fielder Lorenzo Cain are all Gold Glove finalists at their positions. Winners will be announced at seven on ESPN2. A pair of Cardinals are hoping to receive defensive honors today as well. Pitcher Adam Wainwright and catcher Yadier Molina are finalists for Gold Gloves. Molina is seeking his sixth career award. The Pirates’ Russell Martin and Dodgers’ A.J. Ellis are also finalists at catcher.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Seahawks defense stopped the Rams on the one-yard line on the last play of the game to secure a 14-9 victory at the Edward Jones Dome. Rams defensive end Robert Quinn had three sacks, all in the first half and Zac Stacy ran for a career-high 134 yards. St. Louis has dropped their last two to fall to 3-and-5. The Rams remain at home this Sunday as they host the 3-and-4 Tennessee Titans.

(Kansas City, MO) — The Chiefs remain the last unbeaten in the NFL this season following Sunday’s 23-17 victory over Cleveland. KC is 8-and-0 on the year. The Chiefs will try to match the 9-and-0 start by the 2003 team this weekend when they travel to Buffalo to go up against the 3-and-5 Bills.
