Leeton hosted Stover Monday afternoon and won 15-0 in 4 innings. The Leeton Tournament begins Saturday at 9am with pool play.

The Knob Noster Lady Panthers were in Richmond Monday night. Knob Noster took the match in two games 25-12 and 25-18. The Lady Panthers travel to Lexington today for a 5 o’clock start.

SEATTLE (AP) — In a bizarre ending that capped a tough weekend for replacement officials, the Seattle Seahawks beat the Green Bay Packers 14-12 on Russell Wilson’s disputed 24-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate on the final play. Wilson scrambled from the pocket and threw to the corner of the end zone as the clock expired. Tate shoved Green Bay’s Sam Shields out of the way, then wrestled with M.D. Jennings for possession after Jennings got both hands on the ball.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs have a new life after rallying to beat the New Orleans Saints in overtime over the weekend. The Chiefs will try to build on the victory when they face the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. If they can make it two straight wins, Kansas City would move into a tie atop the AFC West.

HOUSTON (AP) — Lance Lynn earned win No. 17 last night in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 6-1 victory over the Houston Astros. Lynn struck out nine batters in seven innings and allowed one run. Yadier Molina and Pete Kozma each homered for the Cardinals, who moved three-and-a-half games ahead of Milwaukee and Los Angeles for the second NL wild card spot. Game 2 of the three game set gets underway tonight at 7:05.

DETROIT (AP) — Justin Verlander pitched eight strong innings last night to help the Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 6-2. Prince Fielder homered for Detroit and Andy Dirks added a pair of RBIs. Luke Hochevar took the loss after yielding six runs and 12 hits in seven-plus innings. Game 2 is tonight at 6:05.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri linebacker Zaviar Gooden re-injured his hamstring Saturday and will not play in this week’s game at Central Florida. Gooden was pulled in the first quarter of the game against No. 6 South Carolina. Coach Gary Pinkel says the senior merely “tweaked” his hamstring, and didn’t strain it again.
