The Meadville girls fell to Linn County Tuesday night 36 to 31.  Haley Fitzpatrick led Meadville with 19 points.  Maci Hullinger was the top scorer for Linn County.  She had 12.  Meadville plays again next Wednesday against Princeton in the Holiday Hoops Tournament at NCMC.

The Meadville boys team defeated Linn County 55 to 29 on Tuesday night.  Derek Smith had 19 and TJ Schmitz added 12 for Meadville.  Josh Allen contributed nine for Linn County.  Meadville will take on Mercer next Wednesday in the Holiday Hoops Tournament.

The Tipton boys team lost to Sacred Heart in a close one at home Tuesday night.  The final score: 59 to 57.  Tipton led in the last four minutes, but Sacred Heart would come back late in the game.  The Cardinals had a chance to win, but missed a three pointer in the last few seconds.  Sacred Heart defended their undefeated record with Tuesday night’s win. The Cardinals moved to 4-4 on the season.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Jeff Withey scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds last night as No. 9 Kansas defeated Richmond 87-59. Ben McLemore added 14 points for the Jayhawks, who have won eight straight. Derrick Williams had 14 points and Cedrick Lindsay scored 12 for the Spiders.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Demarquelle Tabb had 16 points and 14 rebounds last night as Alabama A&M beat Missouri State 59-47. Jeremy Crutcher added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Marshall Marcus led Missouri State with 16 points.
