PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. — An accident in Platte county Sunday evening sent a St. Joseph driver to the hospital with injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 6:15 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 29 at the 9.8 mile marker as a vehicle driven by Chloe M. Kessler lost control, causing her car to travel off the left side of the roadway.

She then struck the concrete barrier and came to rest partially in the roadway.

The vehicle was then struck by a cargo van operated by Latham resident Michael K. Hoover, 51.

Kessler sustained moderate injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Northland to receive treatment.

Hoover was not injured in the crash.
