charges filedSPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A St. Louis man was indicted by a federal grand jury Monday for illegal possession of a firearm.

Charles Allen Roark, 36, pleaded guilty in May, 2014 to being a felon in possession of a firearm, a charge put forward in the indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Jefferson City.

Roark was previously convicted of a felon in possession of a firearm, and for distributing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, arrest, and unlawful use of a weapon. Under federal law, a convicted felon cannot legally possess a firearm or ammunition.

The indictment charges Roark with being a felon in possession of a firearm on July 18, 2015.
