COLUMBIA, Mo. – Columbia Police have asked for charges against the man who caused a short standoff Monday afternoon at a hotel on Providence Road.
Jessie R. Williams, 28, was wanted in connection to the stabbing of a customer at the Casey’s General Store on Range line Street Sunday night. When officers found Williams at the Welcome Inn just after 3:30 p.m. Monday, he refused to exit the hotel room. SWAT and the Crisis Negotiation Team were called in and Williams surrendered without incident.
Formal charges are pending for first degree assault and armed criminal action.
